Dear Center friends,

You may think, as Executive Director of The Center, it’s my job to inspire each person who walks through our doors–but the truth is, it’s you all who inspire me. You give me all of the material I would ever need to fight for, love, and support our community day in and day out. And you have been doing that for me for 14 years. 

This holiday season, as I say farewell, the best gift you can give is to continue to support The Center. I call on all of you to come together, as you always have, and show that during the holidays and every day, love is stronger than hate. 
 

The Center is a life-changing and life-saving organization. Every day, we help real people live better lives, and there is nothing more important. Every day, I see our community showing up for each other. In order to survive and thrive as LGBTQ+ people, we must do so together. Our collective history has shown us that together, we can overcome obstacles and reach beyond negative circumstances. In fact, that’s how we make history. That’s how we heal, and that’s how we succeed. 

Thank you for consistently showing up for LGBTQ+ New Yorkers, for The Center, and for me. That is what I ask from all of you for the next CEO of The Center. Please show up for them. Please be as generous, honest, and kind as you have been to me.

I am forever grateful for my time leading this incredible organization and for your generosity and support. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
