Plant a tree in Haiti? How about a forest?

The relationship between the Quixote Center and our partners in Gros Morne, a community located in southern Haiti, has been long and fruitful.

During the over 30-year partnership, the farmers of Gros Morne have planted hundreds of thousands of trees as part of an on-going and successful reforestation project at Tet Mon, creating a model forest as an example for the whole region.

In addition, with the center's support, the community planted 16,000 fruit trees in their yard gardens, and 800 families planted plantain trees for food and income. We also support a seed bank, technical training for farmers, a model garden for training purposes, distribution of produce to needy families, and education programs on reforestation for schoolchildren.

In 2024, our plan is to continue what we are already doing, plus expand the quantity of plantain and other trees distributed to families. We also will support improved veterinary care for local farmers so they can increase the value of their livestock.

Please support the people of Gros Morne to improve the quality of their lives and their environment with your donation today.
