We're very proud of our higher education reporter Emma Folts, winner of the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association's 2023 Lenfest Institute Emerging Journalist award. In this video, we sat down with Emma to talk about The Red Zone, the award-winning reporting project on campus sexual violence on which she partnered with Mila Sanina and Stephanie Strasburg. Emma also discusses the value that our newsroom's partnership with Open Campus adds to her journalism, and the trauma-informed reporting practices she used in this work.
