Friend,

Today, we wanted to reach out and check in to see how you are doing. The
root of our work is believing in science, which is why we have instituted
a mandatory work from home policy to lessen the risk to our staff and
community. But we are not stopping the work. Now more than ever, we know
the importance of keeping our communities safe and advocacy efforts to
ensure policies are equitable. We are a family and hope that we use this
time to come together to tap into our common humanity. Each of us – no
matter where we live or our gender and racial identity – deserves access
to clean water, clean air and the ability to live in a healthy and
prosperous community.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, we want to ensure that our members
are doing everything you can to stay safe and healthy.

With that said, we’ve compiled a list of state resources that you may find
helpful at this time:

* [ [link removed] ]The California Department of Health’s website with daily updates on
COVID-19
* [ [link removed] ]Consumer Alert for Price Gouging and [ [link removed] ]how to report it
* If a medical professional says you are unable to work due to having or
being exposed to the Coronavirus, [ [link removed] ]you can file a Disability
Insurance claim.
* If your hours have been reduced or your employer has shut down
operations due to Coronavirus, [ [link removed] ]you can file an Unemployment
Insurance claim.
* If you’re unable to work because you’re caring for a sick or
quarantined family member with Coronavirus, [ [link removed] ]you can file a Paid
Family Leave claim.
* If you are working fewer hours because your children’s school is
closed and you need to be there for them, [ [link removed] ]you may apply for
unemployment insurance.

Most of all, we want to remind you of common-sense ways to stay healthy:

* Thoroughly washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
* Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. If surfaces are
dirty, clean them using detergent or soap and water prior to
disinfection.
* Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
* Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow.
* Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
* Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with
respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
* Following guidance from public health officials.

We care about you. Please make sure you take care of yourself. While
working remotely, CLCV will continue to advocate for policies that
strengthen the foundations of communities across California.
In solidarity,

Mary Creasman

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
