In these difficult times, I'm reminded of the wisdom of James Baldwin, who
said, "I never have been in despair about the world. I’ve been enraged by
it. I don’t think I’m in despair. I can’t afford despair. I can’t tell my
nephew, my niece. You can’t tell the children there’s no hope."

our entire community and beyond. Extend a helping hand to those in need,
call that old friend you haven't spoken to in a while to check in on them
and let's continue to work for a fairer and more equal society. Justice
coupled with compassion—that is our moral imperative.
