Dear friend,

I would like to wish all those celebrating a merry Christmas and a festive holiday season. This has been an incredibly busy year and I’m grateful to have the privilege to represent so many of my friends and neighbors in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This year we’ve accomplished a great deal together. We’ve passed bipartisan legislation to increase transparency in health care, worked to expand veterans' benefits, and secured millions of dollars in grants for central Ohio communities.

While we celebrate our blessings, it’s also important to remember that there is still much work to be done. Too many hardworking Ohioans are still feeling the bitter bite of inflation, high gasoline prices, and stubbornly high home loan interest rates.

I’m committed to working in a bipartisan fashion to fix these problems and deliver real results for central Ohio.

I’d also like to take a moment and congratulate the Columbus Crew on their victory this month against the Los Angeles Football Club in the championship game of the Major League Soccer Cup.

This is the Columbus Crew’s third MLS Cup victory since 2008 and the second in three years. I’m incredibly proud of this team; they’ve shown resilience and determination both on and off the field. Glory to Columbus!

I am thrilled to announce that the U.S. House of Representatives passed my bill, the Imaging Services Price Transparency Act, last week!

As a father of three boys, I know all too well how costly an X-ray can be at a hospital as compared to an outpatient facility. Our bill allows individuals to compare the cost of imagining services across the health care sector much like one would compare prices on a menu.

Our legislation will also create competition to lower prices among hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and local clinics.

House Republicans also passed bipartisan legislation this month ending an 11-year ban on schools serving whole milk to students. This common-sense bill will ensure our nation’s children have a bevy of vitamin-rich options to quench their thirst at lunchtime.

I hope my colleagues within the United States Senate will follow the House’s lead and pass this legislation before students return to school from the December holiday break.

I was proud to lead a bipartisan coalition of House lawmakers from Ohio in demanding answers from the acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration over improper payments made to beneficiaries.

More than one million Americans annually are hounded by SSA for overpayments often resulting from a mistake on the part of the federal government. These overpayments can take months or years to be recognized. However, once an overpayment is noticed, the adverse impact on Social Security recipients is nearly instantaneous.

Elderly and disabled Americans relying on Social Security living on fixed incomes have had their benefits frozen or cut because of overpayment mistakes. More troubling, SSA has failed to provide adequate figures to Congress about the total number of people being impacted by this issue.

It is time to put the American people first and stop any harm to senior citizens and those with disabilities.

Our team has worked hard to bring investment back to central Ohio, especially the western portion of our district which was hit hardest by the offshoring of American manufacturing.

Last week, we scored a big win when the Department of Defense announced it was expanding its partnership with Collins Aerospace in Troy, Ohio. This partnership will ensure the next generation of wheel and brake technology for the B-52 aircraft will be made right here in Ohio.

The U.S. military will greatly benefit from this investment as will the hardworking men and women of Miami County.

I ran for office to deliver real results for the people of central Ohio. Since the start of this year, our team has:

  • Secured $4 million for constituents from state and federal agencies.
  • Closed nearly 1,300 cases.

Our team provides a wide variety of services to the people of Ohio’s 15th congressional district. If you are having any issues with Social Security, veterans benefits, or the IRS, our office might be able to help. Click HERE to get started.

There are thousands of federal grants available to constituents, everything from agriculture subsidies to small business loans. If you need help with a federal grant or want to apply for a federal grant click HERE for more information.

Our team is also looking for interns in both Washington, D.C. and Columbus, Ohio. If interested, please click HERE to apply.

Sincerely,
