South Carolina Democrats across the state are clearly fired up and ready to make a difference in the Palmetto State.

Last month, the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary had record breaking turnout, proving that South Carolinians are more motivated than ever before to elect a Democrat to the White House. And today, 175 Democrats filed to run for office as candidate filing opened across the state. Filing will remain open for the next 14 days.

— 122 Democrats filed to run for county office, clerk, school board, sheriff, corner, or auditor
— 35 Democrats filed to run for State Representative
— 16 Democrats filed to run for State Senator
— Congressman James E. Clyburn filed for U.S. Congress
— Jaime Harrison filed for U.S. Senate
