Friend, 

This has been a momentous year for us, friend. 

We've boosted local unions to victory, advocated for LGBTQ+ rights, fought discrimination, made our communities safer, planned outreach and community events, and so much more.

As we near the end of 2023, I find myself reflecting on my journey to get here. I went from a traumatic childhood in war torn Iran to the United States, the land of opportunity. 

From studying at law school to joining the being President of LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles during the fight against Prop 8, from West Hollywood City Council to the Mayor of West Hollywood, I couldn't have done any of it without my earliest supporters who have been there through it all...

I'm talking about my wonderful family! 💛

All the love and support they have shown me has carried me through tough times and hardship, making moments like these where we can celebrate our progress all the more special.

As always, I'm grateful for you and all the people who have shown their support for our movement.

You're the reason we can shine so brightly.
