Hi team,
I know that we’re all very concerned about the rapidly expanding threat of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
In this trying time, I want to offer this promise: I will keep fighting in Congress to protect those impacted by this public health crisis by helping to ensure proper paid sick leave and health care access, and other benefits, including free coronavirus testing.
I’ll continue to do my part as your representative to make sure that our district has all the resources we need to fight back and keep our communities safe. But to stop the spread of COVID-19, we all need to do our part to protect the health of our communities.
In order to do this, it’s essential that we all make sure to follow these safety tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
-
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and/or use hand sanitizer (make sure it contains at least 60% alcohol).
-
Practice social distancing as much as possible and stay home if you are sick (except to receive medical care)!
-
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you sneeze or cough (or use the inside of your elbow). Make sure to discard used tissues in the trash AND immediately wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer afterward.
-
Make sure to clean and disinfect frequently used surfaces such as doorknobs, keyboards, desks, toilets, and sinks.
-
If you have symptoms (i.e., fever, cough, or trouble breathing) or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, contact your health care provider right away.
More helpful tips and information can be found here.
Following these guidelines will help stop the spread and protect the most vulnerable among us.
I’ll keep you updated as we continue to learn more.
In the meantime, please take care and stay safe!
