Friend, even though the holiday season is in full swing, I wanted to highlight just a few of the projects and results I’ve helped deliver for our district in the last few weeks.
One exciting accomplishment this year was delivering a grant from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to kick-start development efforts on the Front Range Passenger Rail Project. By investing in our passenger rail, we’re helping Coloradans by directly connecting communities and reducing congestion on our roads. This project will connect Fort Collins to Pueblo, with intermediate stops in Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs — and it helps ensure we meet the transportation needs of Colorado’s growing population. Also in the last month, I introduced the bipartisan Healthy Watershed, Healthy Communities Act to support drought and flood resilience across the country. This bill would streamline planning and administrative processes within the USDA — and ultimately conserve water more efficiently. I’m proud that this bipartisan bill will protect Colorado’s water resources and ensure our communities and farmers are well equipped for future droughts and floods. Finally, I joined both of Colorado’s U.S. Senators to take action regarding mail service in Colorado mountain towns. Earlier this month, the USPS released a report, confirming what many Coloradans already knew: Mail service in mountain towns has been inadequate and unreliable. I’ve been raising these concerns throughout my time in Congress, and I’ll keep working to ensure the USPS finally takes action to improve Colorado’s mail service.
