Here’s the uncomfortable truth: We have 7 years left to prevent irreversible climate effects.
Black, brown, and low-income communities will be most impacted by those effects – that’s why we’re on the frontlines of the fight to pass landmark legislation that would reduce New York’s climate-heating pollution by 40% AND build beautiful, green, and affordable housing for our communities.
2024 will be a critical year for the climate movement. We have to go all in next year to win this legislation and we need you with us, Friend.
Will you take the next step with us and commit to give monthly in 2024? Our average monthly donation is $17, but you can give at any amount that works for you, whether that’s $3, $10, or $50 – every amount helps fund our Livable NY campaign and organizing work.
Our ambitious goal is to bring in 100 new monthly donors by December 31st, and we have to be ambitious to win a livable New York.
If we can bring in 100 new sustaining donors at $15 a month or so, that’s about $18,000 of reliable funds over the course of 2024 that helps us organize our communities at the scale we need to win this legislation and a livable future for all New Yorkers.
Making this ask of you isn’t something we take lightly – your inbox is most likely filled with many fundraising appeals.
What we can say with certainty is that your donation to NYCC will be used to widen the breadth of our organizing work: scaling up our use of organizing tools and training to strengthen our chapters, hire organizers, develop neighborhood leaders, run political education trainings, and taking direct action.
