The IDF is operating throughout the Gaza Strip in an unprecedented urban battlefield. For 16 years, Hamas has turned Gaza City into a terror fortress – above and below ground – to launch attacks against Israelis and to prepare for a war.
For Hamas, putting civilians in danger is a deliberate strategy to create international pressure on Israel, while the IDF goes to great lengths to minimize civilian deaths. As National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said recently, "it’s very rare for a modern military to take those kinds of steps" to protect innocent lives.
In two interviews you can watch below, John Spencer, the Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at West Point’s Modern War Institute, refuted many of the bogus claims being made about how Israel is executing this war, directly challenging the arguments about indiscriminate bombing and civilian casualty figures.
Spencer defended and praised how Israel has conducted this complex operation, calling those who are criticizing Israel’s operation "uninformed people about how war works."
While clearing Hamas out of southern Gaza City, the IDF was able to lure dozens of terrorists into a command center building and then used a fighter jet to destroy the facility, killing all the Hamas operatives there.
The Israeli army also uncovered a weapons cache in a children’s daycare center being used to store mortars, rocket propelled grenades, and other explosives.
The Shin Bet and IDF announced today that it eliminated Hassan Atrash, a Hamas weapons smuggler responsible for the trade and production of weapons for the terror group. They released footage of the targeted strike.
Meanwhile, the White House today shared intelligence that Iran is providing the Houthis in Yemen with the weapons, funding, training, and tactical intelligence that it is using to attack Israel and ships in the Red Sea. Iran’s Supreme Leader took to Twitter to repeat his calls for the destruction of Israel.
I encourage you to watch and share this powerful 39-second video posted by the families and friends of the hostages taken by Hamas, pledging they won’t stop until they are ALL back.
Sincerely,
Cory Meyer
