Governor Josh Shapiro: Our democracy depends on this and we need your help.

I know firsthand that the DGA depends on grassroots support. That’s why today, I am personally inviting you to participate in the DGA's Voting Rights Survey. Please, will you take a moment now to join this survey before tonight's midnight deadline? Your response is critical to informing our on-the-ground strategy for 2024 and beyond.

Team, earlier this year, I announced that Pennsylvania is an automatic voter registration state. It’s a commonsense change that will help tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians make their voice heard — and keep our elections secure.

But extremists on the far-right, including Donald Trump, are already attacking this measure and accusing me and other Democrats of a conspiracy to steal the 2024 election in Pennsylvania.

I’m not surprised Donald Trump and his allies have an issue with popular policies like this one. Across the country, Republican lawmakers are in the midst of a coordinated campaign to suppress the vote. Fourteen states have enacted anti-voting laws so far this year, including in North Carolina – where Republicans followed the advice of an election denier handpicked by Trump to attack the right to vote under the guise of “election security,” despite zero evidence of widespread voter fraud.

This is more of the same baseless lies that Trump’s been peddling ever since he lost Pennsylvania in 2020. But this fight is ongoing, team, so I’m asking you to act.

As Republicans continue their relentless attacks on the right to vote, the DGA is working tirelessly to combat their attacks and elect Democratic governors that will protect the right to vote, so they need to know where top supporters like you stand. Please, will you take the DGA’s Voting Rights Survey before midnight? With just a minute of your time today, you can help shape the Democratic agenda in 2024 and years to come.
