We all have our own traditions around the holidays, so I wanted to take a moment today to share mine with you.
Each year, my family and I do our best to spend about a week together, usually within driving distance of one of our homes. I’ll be trying to sneak in a little bit of time to relax and see my family before a crazy election year officially starts.
This year, I’m taking some of my nieces and nephews on a bunch of day-adventures around Detroit. There are so many things to do in the city, but here are some options:
Kid-focused tour of the Detroit Institute of Art
The Mandela Exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum
The Black Panther costume exhibit at the Wright Museum
The DNR Outdoor Adventure Center
Elf, with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra live music
Lots and lots of sugary snack options in between
Whatever your tradition, I just wanted to once again say thank you for being a part of this campaign.
I cannot overstate how much I appreciate your support: the notes, the calls, the Facebook messages, the advice, the impromptu “Slotkin for Senate” crafts, and more than anything, for your belief that together we can protect Michigan's open Senate seat for Democrats.
Enjoy these final days of 2023. I am grateful to know that I will have you with me as we prepare for what's to come in 2024.
Elissa
