On Friday, Tucker Carlson unveiled a preview for his upcoming conversation with Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, who has been detained in London's Belmarsh Prison since 2019.
"Julian Assange is unquestionably one of the preeminent journalists of our era. His entire adult life has been devoted to unveiling concealed truths about the actions of our leaders and bringing them to the public. That, by definition, is the essence of journalism," Carlson asserted. "However, in the newsrooms of America, Assange is not hailed as a hero; he is vilified as an enemy. Assange's transgression was offending the true constituency of the media, which is not the public but the powerful. For this, journalists label Assange a political operative masquerading as a reporter, mirroring their own behavior."
Carlson then summarized the background of Assange's activities, which caused significant upheaval for the U.S. government. WikiLeaks exposed misconduct by the U.S. government during the Iraq war, including human rights abuses.
The watchdog organization played a pivotal role in the release of emails from former Clinton Campaign Manager John Podesta, uncovering the Democratic National Committee's manipulation of the primary in favor of Hillary Clinton.
"Assange is presently incarcerated by the British government, although he faces no specific charges. Confined in Belmarsh, the most heavily fortified prison in the UK, Assange has spent over four years in solitary confinement, separated from his wife and two children. Isolated among murderers and mental patients, he awaits extradition to the United States for trial," Carlson continued.
"Charged in the U.S. under the century-old Espionage Act, a law that is blatantly unconstitutional and primarily employed to punish political offenses, Assange has never engaged in espionage. The U.S. government lacks genuine interest in trying him under that law. His ongoing imprisonment is the crux of the matter."

WOW: Joe Biden Sends Desperate Message To Mexico...
President Joe Biden is shifting focus from critical border negotiations with Republicans to engage in emergency talks with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
According to one U.S. official, the goal is to enlist the Mexican government in targeted operations against cartels involved in the migration business. Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies, points out that Biden's reluctance to enforce immigration law has led to unprecedented migration numbers, prompting him to seek assistance from Mexico instead of utilizing available legal tools to address the issue immediately.
Customs and Border Protection agents, faced with a daily influx of migrants, highlight the overwhelming situation at the U.S.-Mexico border. The Republican governor of Texas has signed a bill allowing state police to arrest and deport illegal migrants.
The diplomatic shift to Mexico also complicates negotiations between the White House and GOP senators, where Democrats had initially included Biden's pro-migration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas. However, Biden has redirected Mayorkas to engage in talks with Obrador, impacting the urgency of Senate negotiations.
A White House press aide, John Kirby, mentioned that President Biden has requested high-ranking officials to travel to Mexico and discuss actions to address the current border challenges. This mission is set for December 27, while Senate negotiations are expected to conclude by January 8.
The move to engage with Mexico adds complexity to Democrats' claims that Capitol Hill negotiations are crucial for national security. Democrats have tied military aid for Israel and Ukraine to GOP approval of a $14 billion fund aimed at managing the flow of migrants into American communities.
The closed-door Senate talks face challenges as Democrats seek to preserve Mayorkas's quasi-legal "parole pipeline" while Republicans reject the combined aid package. Biden's sudden pivot to Mexico, despite global emergencies, reflects the political urgency of the border crisis.
The U.S. officials' decision to shut down some railroads that facilitate Mexico's trade products into the U.S. adds pressure. The aim is to force Mexico to regulate migration, impacting border officers' shortage and inflicting losses on cross-border rail commerce.
Obrador, with the power to reduce migration until June 2024, expresses willingness to negotiate a deal, proposing U.S.-Cuba bilateral dialogue. While evidence suggests a quiet agreement with Mexico, using migration as leverage is a common tactic globally, as seen with Turkey's threats to Europe.
The dynamics reveal the intricate use of migration as a tool for diplomatic pressure, challenging Democratic narratives on the root causes of migration. Krikorian emphasizes that smaller countries, like Mexico, utilize available tools to assert their interests in the face of more powerful nations.
