I would like to take the opportunity to share NASN's statement on the violence below: The National Association of School Nurses offers condolences to individuals and families mourning the deaths and injuries of loved ones in the recent mass shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH. These violent acts, as well as all incidents of gun violence, devastate communities throughout this nation. Winter 2019 legislative actions from the House of Representatives related to background checks for gun purchases is a start. NASN calls for Congress to consider more protective gun legislation. NASN supports engagement in gun violence research to direct the need for additional legislative action. Our nation needs solutions to curb gun violence NOW!
