Winter safety takes many forms for our community. We're here to provide some tips to keep you safe until the warmer weather returns.
1. Dress in layers: Winter temperatures can bring unexpected cold snaps. Dress in layers that you can adjust throughout the day. Keep blankets and layers in your vehicle too.
2. Prepare Your Vehicle: Ensure your vehicle is winter-ready. Check your tires, brakes, and fluid levels regularly. Keep an emergency kit in your car, including a blanket, flashlight, water, and non-perishable snacks. Even here, unexpected icy patches can still occur, so be cautious.
3. Prepare Your Home: Ensure your heating systems are in good working order. Insulate pipes to prevent freezing. Have emergency supplies, including non-perishable food and water, in case of power outages.

These are just the tip of the winter safety iceberg. During these colder months, please drive with caution, stay alert, and give yourself and your family extra space and time to be sure you get to your destinations safely.
