This is a new 36-unit, 55+ housing project that was spearheaded by the City of Orange City and Orange City Area Health System. However, this request has been ignored by President Biden. We need year-round E-15 to support our farmers, lower gas prices for our families, and end our reliance on foreign oil. PROTECTING AND EXPANDING ACCESS TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES IN OUR RURAL COMMUNITIES As a former volunteer EMT with the Hull Ambulance Service for 15 years, I know firsthand the importance of reliable emergency medical services in our rural communities. I’m proud to support the PARA-EMT Act to ensure that our rural communities have the resources that they need to recruit qualified medical personnel, train new paramedics and EMTs, and retain these heroes who face higher levels of burnout and stress. According to some estimates, approximately 40% of the lifetime veterinary expenses for police dogs occur in the last two years of their lives, meaning the handler could expect $5,000 or more in veterinary bills in the final years of a police dog’s life. That’s why I introduced legislation – the Honoring Police Officer and K9 Service Act – to help our police cover the costs of maintaining K9s in their departments and ensure that police dogs receive the quality care and treatment that they deserve after a lifetime of service.
