John,
Unlike a lot of campaigns, we are honest and transparent about where your donations are going. We track every dollar of our spending because we understand that when you make a donation, it should be going to actually make a difference towards our campaign - not overhead or wasteful spending.
So here’s the honest truth: There are only 10 days left until the end-of-year deadline and there’s a real possibility we will be outraised by Josh’s Republican opponent Kevin Lincoln if we don’t pick up the pace.
In the spirit of being transparent about where your donations are going, here is a list of things we need to fund before the end of the year:
NEW LIT: Our March election is coming up quickly, and that means we need to purchase new mailers and campaign literature to hand out while we’re knocking on doors! It’s critical we remind voters there is an election happening in March.
DIGITAL ADS: We know in order to fight back against the GOP’s attacks against Josh, we have to respond with just as many ads of our own! But we’ve already spent our entire ads budget this year and now we need your help to launch our get out the vote ads before the March election. In our district, it’s important we have ads running in both English and Spanish!
TV ADS: We know the Republicans are going to spend millions of dollars against us on TV ads this cycle, so we have to be prepared to fight back. TV ads are incredibly expensive, especially in our media market (Sacramento TV is one of the most expensive markets in the country!). We have to match their spending dollar-for-dollar if we’re going to win this competitive race.
Now that you have more insight into our expenses, I hope you have a better understanding of why we need your help to reach our end-of-year goal. Your support is critical so we can fund our campaign expenses in 2024 and fight back against the relentless GOP attacks. We simply can’t afford to be outraised by Josh’s new Republican opponent.
