The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 118th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.
Wishing You a Merry Christmas
I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas. May this season be full of light and laughter.
Surveying the Lukeville Point of Entry
I traveled to Lukeville, Arizona, located in the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector, to assess how illegal immigration impacts this border town. Earlier this week, the Tucson Sector experienced a record 3,000 illegal alien encounters in one day.
Lukeville, Arizona, has become the latest hotspot for illegal immigration along the U.S.-Mexico border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently closed the Lukeville port of entry due to these increased illegal migration flows, moving port personnel to border processing. The closure has negatively impacted commerce, tourism, and family visits between Arizona and Mexico.
When I arrived in Lukeville, I immediately witnessed border agents processing hundreds of illegal aliens. The vast majority of these illegal aliens were from African nations like Senegal and Burkina Faso. These illegal aliens made it clear that they did not want asylum, but rather an opportunity to work in the United States. Many of them had homes lined up in major cities like Washington D.C., Boston, and New York City.
These large groups entered the United States through wall gaps cut by the Mexican cartels. A construction contractor told me that he had already patched up the wall around Lukeville six times that day. Six times!
I drove up and down this border section and could not find a single Border Patrol agent on patrol as they are inundated with processing illegal aliens.
The situation in Lukeville and other remote areas of Arizona is dire. These towns deserve more attention from the media, the Biden Administration, and Congress. We must act now to restore our sovereignty and protect our national security.
We must build more border wall, enforce our laws, and terminate catch-and-release policies to obtain better control of our border.

Denouncing Colorado Supreme Court’s Decision to Ban President Trump from 2024 Ballot
In an unprecedented move, the Colorado Supreme Court has disqualified President Trump from appearing on the state’s 2024 election ballot. This ruling, which was made directly in response to the Capitol protests on January 6, 2021, is election interference. American voters decide elections, not liberal, activist courts.
The outrageous ruling marks the first time in history that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment has been used to disqualify a presidential candidate from a state ballot, and it was done without President Trump being convicted of any crime. The 14th Amendment bans anyone who once took an oath to uphold the Constitution but then “engaged” in “insurrection or rebellion” against it from running for public office again.
I am hopeful that sanity will prevail at the U.S. Supreme Court and that President Trump will be reinstated. I’ll keep you posted.
Holding Special Counsel Jack Smith Accountable
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and I sent a letter to Special Counsel Jack Smith regarding his unfair treatment of President Donald Trump and his supporters. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith to investigate President Trump following the January 6, 2021 protests. Since then, Smith has wrongly targeted the president to wipe out his chances of running for reelection in 2024.
Chairman Jordan and I are particularly concerned about the search warrant Smith obtained to investigate President Trump’s Twitter (X) account and the misconduct by his top aide Jay Bratt.
We are demanding that Smith unveil documents and communications from his office, the Attorney General’s office, and the Deputy Attorney General’s office. If he does not comply, we will subpoena him. We’ll leave no stone unturned and ensure justice is delivered fairly.
The letter may be read here.
The Daily Caller covered the letter here.
Alien Invasion Border Documentary
Check out my border documentary titled Alien Invasion. The 30-minute documentary features footage from private ranches along the border, the Darien Gap in Panama, and interviews with members of Congress, Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement, and much more. It addresses how President Biden’s border crisis began, its consequences, and solutions to address the crisis.
The border documentary may be watched here.
