John,
As we mark 76 days since 10/7 and head into 2024, we wanted to share two important advocacy opportunities.
First, investigators have documented widespread rape and sexual violence by Hamas against Israeli women and girls. Yet the world remains silent. Human rights organizations, advocates for women and children, and feminist leaders have ignored or flat-out denied that these atrocities took place. The evidence of sexual violence has been widely documented by a civil commission, forensic scientists, eyewitnesses and Israeli police. The world must recognize and condemn the use of rape and sexual violence as a weapon of war against Israelis.
We are grateful that a bipartisan group of 16 Senators has introduced a Senate resolution to formally recognize and condemn the use of
sexual violence on October 7th. Please join ADL in asking your Senator to support the resolution.

Second, last night, Jonathan Greenblatt issued an open letter to colleges and universities, urging them to use the semester break to clearly communicate to their students that when they return to campus, there will be zero tolerance for antisemitism and that intimidation, harassment and violations of the student code of conduct will be met with consequences. You can read the letter here, and you can still push your university to take action by
asking them to answer clearly what will be tolerated on campus.
