Team,

Last week, news broke that conservative Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch took only 10 minutes to approve the 98-page draft of the opinion that ended the nationwide right to an abortion after almost 50 years. Either Justice Gorsuch is a speed reader (6.12 seconds per page!), or he didn’t bother to read it at all. The Federalist Society justices knew what the plan was — they didn’t even need to review the decision.

Also last week, the Supreme Court announced it would take up a case to decide on the availability of an abortion pill that has been safely used for decades. Not a reassuring sign of where this Court is heading on women’s rights.

That’s why I’m asking if you can add your name to my petition to commit to electing defenders of reproductive health care to the Senate in 2024.

As Republicans continue to attack reproductive health care nationwide and the Supreme Court remains stacked with far-right anti-abortion justices, we need to protect and expand our Senate majority so we can codify Roe v. Wade into law.

We’re up against a GOP that is intent on passing a national abortion ban and a Supreme Court majority that will take women’s rights backwards every chance they get.

If we want to safeguard women’s reproductive freedom, Democrats need your help.

Please, sign my petition now to send me back to Washington next year and join me in my fight to elect more Democrats to the Senate so we can codify Roe v. Wade into law >>> [link removed]

Thank you,

Sheldon Whitehouse
