A Message from Gabe

As we near the end of the year, I wanted to share some additional resources that may be helpful to many across our First Congressional District. From severe weather to the emergency closure of the Washington Bridge, our communities have faced great challenges in the past few weeks. However, when times get tough, Rhode Islanders stick together.

I also wanted to make sure you were able to see our District Swearing-In Address where I underscored the importance of bringing our Rhode Island story to Washington. Additionally, I appeared on WPRI’s Newsmakers where we covered critical issues facing Rhode Islanders.

I wish you and your families a restful and relaxing season and a great start to 2024.

Federal Program Spotlight

This month has been incredibly challenging for small businesses across Rhode Island, especially in Providence and East Providence because of the emergency closure of the Washington Bridge. Please document any impacts that you have faced as a result of the closure at: www.commerceri.com/emergency-assistance

I am incredibly grateful to the Small Business Administration (SBA) for listening to our calls and moving quickly to stand up the Business Recovery Center at the Weaver Library in East Providence. I encourage every small business leader impacted by the closure to seek the resources available: SBA loan services, technical resources, and business planning services.

If you have any questions about the Business Recovery Center, email [email protected] or call 401-528-4561 to learn more.
