Marie Park Stormwater Pond Maintenance
The City has hired a contractor to maintain the stormwater pond in Marie Park, a requirement of the PCA to reduce the amount of sediment and other pollutants entering surface waters via stormwater drainage. Tree removal and site preparation has begun.

Now Accepting Oak Award Nominations!
The Natural Resources Commission is now accepting applications for the first-ever Oak Awards, a program to celebrate leadership, education/outreach and project efforts that advance natural resources within the City.
The nomination deadline is January 31, 2024.

Partners in Energy
In October 2023, the City applied for and was accepted into in Xcel Energy?s?Partners in Energy?program. The program provides resources and support to develop an Energy Action Plan aimed at reducing energy use, tools to help implement the plan, and resources designed to help communities stay informed.
The City is seeking residents, business owners, as well as representatives from faith organizations, non-profits, and other community groups to be a part of an Energy Action Team that will help guide the development of the City?s Energy Action Plan.

Seeking Candidates for Natural Resources Commission
The Natural Resources Commission serves in an advisory role to the City Council on matters pertaining to natural resources, sustainability, environmental and climate stewardship. The City is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the commission in 2024; application deadline is Dec. 29.
