Friend,
In April, conflict broke out in 25-year-old Nour’s home of El Geneina, Sudan. The city was under siege by armed groups who wouldn’t let anyone in or out.
“We didn’t have clean water to drink,” says Nour. “These armed groups burned all water facilities, attacked the main market, and they looted shops then burned the market down.”
He had no choice but to flee for his safety.
Nour was attacked by an armed man and shot in the face while making this journey. He was just one of the patients treated by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) doctors at Adré hospital in Chad.
Friend, our nearly 68,000 staff are providing care to patients like Nour in more than 70 countries around the world. Whatever the situation, we are working to ensure people have the care they need when caught in the crossfire of violence. Thanks to a generous group of donors, you can maximize your impact to ensure people receive the lifesaving care they need to survive with a MATCHED gift. Make your first donation to MSF today >>
The ongoing violence in Sudan has killed more than 5,000 people and displaced 5.4 million more. 400,000 people have fled to neighboring Chad. For those refugees who are staying in camps in Adré, eastern Chad, MSF is responding to critical water and health care needs. Despite this, disastrous consequences loom as the violence continues.
As the humanitarian crisis grows, your support can help ensure conflict is not a barrier to lifesaving care anywhere it arises. Help people receive the basic necessities they need to survive. Double your impact today—our $1,000,000 match offer means every gift can go TWICE as far for those who need it most. |
P.S. If your year-end gift and our email have crossed paths, we sincerely thank you for your generosity!

All gifts given, up to $1,000,000, will be doubled through 11:59 p.m. on December 31. Every dollar you give will be matched with $1. Gifts received after the match has been met will not be matched but will be used where needed most. |
