Hello Democrats! We wish you all a season filled with peace, joy, and the warmth of family and friends. As we soak in the festive spirit, just a heads up: there won't be a newsletter next week as we take a breather to gear up for an amazing year ahead. Enjoy this time to recharge before we reengage in 2024 to keep the momentum going. Happy holidays!
Abortion Ballot Petition Update
Floridians Protecting Freedom has successfully gathered over 1.4 million voter signatures to place an abortion rights amendment on the ballot!

The initiative, which emerged in response to restrictive abortion laws, notably a six-week abortion ban signed by Governor Ron DeSantis, challenges these restrictions and aims to protect women's rights. It still faces several hurdles, including approval by the Florida Supreme Court and needing a 60% vote to pass.

The Supreme Court's decision on the amendment's language could influence its inclusion on the ballot but, if passed, would counteract existing and the impending 6-week abortion ban, rendering them unenforceable.
Indian River County's Congressman
What has our House Representative, Bill Posey, been up to this month?

While House Republicans failed to find any evidence of wrongdoing by Biden, Indian River Representative Bill Posey voted YES on the bogus impeachment effort. This desperate attempt by MAGA Republicans to distract from Donald Trump’s serious legal troubles shows MAGA Republicans have the wrong priorities. They are focusing on baseless political stunts rather than the real issues Americans care about like the economy and the cost of living.
A recent GOP led House Ethics Committee report found that Rep. George Santos grossly misused campaign funds. He allegedly made unauthorized charges to donors and spent campaign money at casinos and an amusement park, and misreported his spending to the FEC. This month, 104 Republicans voted to expel Santos but Indian River Rep. Bill Posey voted to keep him in office.

In a rare move, Jewish Democrats formally
rebuked a bill cosponsored by Posey to expel Palestinians from the U.S. saying the bill dangerously conflates Palestinians with Hamas and calling the bill un-American, bigoted, and designed to inflame tensions which could result in violence. The two-page resolution was introduced by Reps. Greg Landsman (D-OH) and Dan Goldman (D-NY), both of whom are Jewish and steadfastly pro-Israel. "Calls to expel Palestinians from the United States are racist, xenophobic and have no place in the government of the United States," Goldman said.

Almost 90% of the $68 billion in military aid for Ukraine approved by Congress isn't going overseas. It's being spent right here in the United States, creating jobs and boosting our manufacturing industry. Despite the immense benefits to American workers and factories, Congressman Bill Posey stood in the way of this aid and obstructed support for U.S. workers. We deserve a representative who stands up for our workers and supports initiatives that strengthen our nation, not someone who obstructs opportunities for our communities.

New polling shows voters are more likely to support their member of Congress if they support protecting Medicare and Social Security, capping prescription drug costs, and cutting taxes for the middle class. Indian River's MAGA Congressman Bill Posey fails on every single issue.

Additional new polling shows that while the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is viewed favorably by 3 in 5 Americans, with two-thirds believing that repealing it poses too much of a risk, majorities of Democrats, Republicans and Independents believe Republicans would try to repeal it. The fact is, Republicans already tried. And Indian River County's Congressman Bill Posey VOTED YES.

Indian River Rep. Posey has the wrong priorities and
👎 is completely out of step with the American people
👎 is focusing on an evidence free impeachment
👎 ignores issues Americans care about - economy/cost of living
👎 is interested in helping one person: Donald Trump.
