Dear JOHN, I hope your holiday season is off to a great start and that you’re able to spend quality time with your loved ones over the coming weeks. It’s hard to believe that it will soon be 2024! As I reflect on 2023, I want to remind you that House Democrats are committed to delivering for everyday Americans. We have been working to lower costs for child-care, home energy and high-speed internet, grow the middle class and make our communities safer. My promise to you and your family is that Democrats will always put People over Politics. This year, we crossed the aisle and voted with Republicans to prevent our nation from defaulting on our debt and to stop two costly government shutdowns. | As we look towards 2024, Congress has a lot to accomplish. We need to keep the government open by passing appropriations bills, fund President Biden’s domestic & foreign aid supplemental, consider comprehensive immigration reform, continue to grow the economy among many other priorities. But please know in every instance, Democrats are thinking about how it impacts everyday Americans. We have championed programs, like the Affordable Connectivity Program. According to the White House, this initiative provides low-cost high-speed internet to nearly 70,000 households in NY-5. Democrats have also advocated for funding to support access to childcare services for more than 676,000 kids in New York according to the Biden Administration. Our commitment to people-centric policy is borne out by the programs we support, and I’ll continue to uphold those values | New York’s 5th district is a resilient community that’s vibrant and diverse and I am grateful for the trust that you all have placed in me as your representative. I take great pride in representing my constituents on Capitol Hill. Happy Holidays! | I want to hear from YOU! What issue should be the top priority for 2024?
