What is in our videos that is so upsetting to the left? I’ll tell you.

In one PragerU Kids cartoon adventure, brother and sister duo Leo and Layla visit the former slave and famous abolitionist, Frederick Douglass.

According to the left, we put words in the great man’s mouth when the animated Douglass said, “Our system is wonderful, and the Constitution is a glorious liberty document! We just need to convince enough Americans to be true to it.”

The phrase “the Constitution is a glorious liberty document!” is taken directly from Douglass’s famous 1852 Fourth of July speech, one of the greatest speeches in American history. It should be required reading for every American high school student.

PragerU doesn’t downplay the evils of slavery, as we’ve been accused of doing. We hate slavery! We teach that racism is evil. We offer important age-appropriate context, something that is sorely lacking in the contemporary teaching of history.

TRIPLE MY GIFT

In another cartoon episode, Leo and Layla visit Christopher Columbus. At one point, they discuss slavery with the great explorer.

Columbus says, “Slavery is as old as time and has taken place in every corner of the world.”

Later, Layla pushes back against Columbus by saying, “Well, in our time, we view slavery as being evil and terrible.” (Of course, the left chooses to ignore this line.)

Why didn’t we have Columbus condemn slavery in this cartoon? Because that would be inaccurate. Slavery was common in Columbus’s day. From his perspective, it was just the way the world worked. Again, we don’t minimize the evils of slavery, nor do we deny that it was an awful part of American history. We do, however, judge people by the standards of their own time.

Of course, you know what the left wants to teach instead—that America was, is, and always will be racist, free market capitalism is evil and must be destroyed, and promoting chemical castration and surgery, a.k.a. “gender-affirming care,” is mandatory to properly teach kids “sex ed.”

It’s taken the left decades to brainwash America’s young people. We know that we can undo that damage with our videos. The left knows it, too!
