2023 was an important year for the Prospect. We’re thankful to our readers for making everything we do possible, and that’s why we wanted to give you an inside look on some of the exciting plans we have for 2023.

In the new year, we’re looking ahead to the next election, which might just be the most important one of our lifetime. Critically acclaimed author and historian Rick Perlstein (Reaganland, The Invisible Bridge) will write an exclusive weekly newsletter and column called "The Infernal Triangle," starting the first week of January, on the relationship between rising Republican authoritarianism, Democratic timidity and mainstream media complicity. In addition to Perlstein’s column, our staff will provide in-depth coverage of what’s happening in 2024 up and down the ballot, uncovering the narratives that mainstream media ignores.

We look forward to continuing our reporting on how policy at every level of government affects the American public, and how the levers of power can be used to win progressive change even with a divided Congress. And as always, we’ll shine a light on the social movements that push this country forward. We’ll continue covering the growing American labor movement and how workers are standing up for themselves and their communities across the country, and exploring how movements can wield public policy to rebuild working class institutions.

We're optimistic that 2024 will be a good year for independent media, and we can’t wait to dive into the stories that will matter most next year.
