John,
In these last few weeks, our campaign has been closely monitoring the outbreak of the novel coronavirus and how it will impact our community and our upcoming runoff election. In response to the escalation of COVID-19, we implemented several precautions to protect our staff and the public at large.
We are suspending all door-to-door canvassing operations and closing our office to volunteers. This doesn’t mean we will stop communicating with voters. We will be using digital, phone, and good old fashioned U.S. Mail to keep the electorate informed of this important upcoming election, and the need to elect strong leaders in Washington, DC. Sign up today to be a part of our virtual grassroots team! [[link removed]]
We have also taken other steps to Slow The Spread like converting our in-person events into remote events. Our staff has paid sick leave to allow for self-quarantine if they are feeling ill or come into contact with presumptive cases.
Public safety is paramount and the lack of leadership at the federal level makes our campaign even more important. In this uncertain time, we will continue to fight for the people of the Texas 10th through extensive outreach. Now, more than ever, we need a strong safety net, to ensure our communities remain healthy and resilient.
Fighting for you,
Mike
