We're taking the battle to Congress AND the states!

The incredible chaos at the U.S.-Mexico border is the number one news story in America right now. Americans have been concerned about the high rate of illegal immigration for many years. But the situation has spiraled out of control since President Biden came into office. Literally millions of new illegal aliens have come and settled in this country. There's zero respect for the legal process or for the wishes of the American people.

In response, we at NumbersUSA have expanded our efforts to shut this chaos down. Yes, we educate and influence Members of Congress on laws that will end the border crisis. Yes, we empower you, our members, to send massive numbers of messages to Congress to amplify your voice.

We get the word out to voters so THEY can put more pressure on Congress. This includes Black voters in places like Chicago who have seen that the national immigration issue is impacting their jobs and their communities in ways that will not stop without changes in immigration law. The NumbersUSA Hiring Line Initiative is prepared to assist local groups like those protesting Chicago's sanctuary policies to give them a stronger voice in Washington D.C. We're not just waiting for the stalemate in Washington to break. We've increased our efforts with state legislators, such as Texas and Florida to pass state laws, including E-Verify, to turn back the flow of illegal immigrants. We're busy in eight states convincing state legislators to pass mandatory E-Verify laws. E-Verify is the absolute best tool America has to shut down illegal immigration is cutting off the jobs magnet by ensuring US citizens and those with legal work authorizations receive those jobs!

We also have increased our public voice to bring the issues of immigration directly to the public. One example of many is that yesterday morning The Washington Examiner newspaper published an op-ed article in which I presented frank views on what has to be done.

Washington Examiner: No Ukraine-Israel deal without border security
I quote from the article:

"The Senate may soon decide to appropriate a vast sum of money to help Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan secure their borders. It's eminently reasonable for lawmakers to condition such aid on securing our own border. Any 'must-pass legislation' must contain the Secure the Border Act provisions to regain control of the southern border."

As we look to 2024, the challenges before NumbersUSA are enormous. We MUST convince Congress to fix the border! Only Congress has that power. President Biden is not acting to faithfully enforce our nation's immigration laws. This year's record high number of encounters of those attempting to illegally enter the United States and the 50% release rate into the United States of illegal aliens has proven that if the law has ANY discretion to him, President Biden will abuse that to release MILLIONS MORE ILLEGAL ALIENS into this country.

We have been working directly with lawmakers in both the House and the Senate to craft law that would end the border crisis. We've succeeded in the House with its passing of H.R.2, the Secure Border Act, passed in May. We continue to work ongoing with Senators.

Washington Examiner: No Ukraine-Israel deal without border security
The House of Representatives passed H.R.2, the Secure the Border Act, last May. Passing this bill was our number one legislative priority this year!

Part of what gives us such high credibility with members of Congress is that we provide accurate information, an expansive understanding of immigration law, and have gone on inspection trips to the Border so that we can report back first-hand what is occurring. I toured the border in May of 2023. Just last week our Jim Robb and Rob Harding led a group at Eagle Pass, Texas, the epicenter of this year's illegal crossings and this week's record breaking illegal crossings.

Jim and Rob told me they saw about 1,000 illegal aliens wade across the river and get loaded into white Border Patrol buses to taken to a tent city out of town. Once there, the illegal aliens are given "notices to appear" before a judge sometime far in the future. Fox News reported Tuesday that hearing dates are as far off as 2031!! In the meanwhile, aliens are released to go and steal American jobs. You can check out what Jim saw here.

This week, the Center for Immigration Studies reported that about 59% of illegal alien households, which is the language in the law to describe such, are using at least one welfare program! Nearly six out of ten! So yes, the average illegal alien receives far more from the federal government than they contribute.

Currently nearly 60% of those entering the United States illegally are not from Latin America, but are from countries around the world. These illegal aliens are coming to our southern border primarily because the Biden administration has rolled out the welcome mat for them, against the will, interests of the vast majority of American people and, more importantly, against the immigration law established by Congress. The administration has done this because they perceive they can get away with it. Whatever challenges we face, this is still a democracy, and ultimately the voters still have a voice.

Help us raise the voice of American voters! We could do none of this, without the support of members like you. Only you can grab back the reins of our government. Only you can force our officials to uphold the rule of law and provide economic opportunities for our citizens. Only you can set our nation back onto the right course where our cities' resources and nation's welfare support programs go to help citizens and children of citizens of the United States.
