LANSING – Today, Chadwick Mobley, 42, was bound over for trial on murder charges for the 2011 homicide of Andrea Eilber, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. 

In 2011, Eilber was shot in the head at the home of a relative in Lapeer. Evidence found at the scene was tested for DNA during the immediate investigation, and again in 2022 in a renewed effort that positively identified Mobley, who by then resided in the state of Utah. Mobley fled his home shortly after questioning by Michigan State Police and was later apprehended by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department in Libby, Montana, before being returned to Michigan to face criminal charges. 

Mobley was bound over for trial on the following charges:  

• One count, First Degree Murder, a felony that carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole;  
• One count, Felony Murder, a felony that carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole; and,  
• One count, Felony Firearm, a two-year felony. 

Mobley will next appear in the 40th Circuit Court in Lapeer County before Judge Michael Nolan on January 8th.
