There are just TEN DAYS left in 2023, so we wanted to highlight TEN things Congresswoman Cori Bush has done this year.

1. Introduced the Reparations Now resolution, recognizing that the United States has a moral and legal obligation to provide reparations for the enslavement of Africans and its lasting harm on the lives of millions of Black people in the United States.

2. Introduced the Reproductive Health Travel Fund Act to provide grant assistance for those who travel long distances to receive reproductive health care, including abortion care.

3. Introduced the End Solitary Confinement Act, historic legislation which would end solitary confinement in federal prison and detention facilities, establish minimum standards for incarceration and due process protections, and incentivize states and localities to end solitary in state and local facilities.

4. Introduced the Ceasefire Now Resolution, a resolution urging the Biden Administration to call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine, and to send humanitarian aid and assistance to Gaza.

5. Introduced the Unhoused Bill Of Rights, is the first federal resolution to declare unalienable rights for unhoused persons and provide solutions to permanently end the crisis by 2027.

6. Brought $18.4 million in community funding projects.

7. Brought over $600 million in federal funding to the district.

8. Introduced the Insulin For All Act, legislation that would cap the list price of insulin. It would prohibit pharmaceutical manufacturers from charging more than $20 per vial.

9. Introduced the ERA Now Resolution, urging the Archivist of the United States to certify the state ratifications, and publish the Equal Rights Amendment in the federal register, cementing it as a formal part of the U.S. Constitution.

10. Introduced the People’s Response Act, groundbreaking legislation that would advance an inclusive, holistic, and health-centered approach to public safety by creating a public safety division within the United States Department of Human Health and Services — because communities and experts agree that public safety is a matter of public health.
