John — we wanted to tell you about our most recent public roundtable.
Earlier this month, SEEC’s Climate Jobs Task Force had the opportunity to sit down with some of our nation’s climate workers, who are at the forefront of our clean energy future.
A key takeaway? — Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) investments are playing a key role in building new generations of clean energy workers. When the IRA was finally passed, we knew it would be the largest investment into our climate and future, and now we’re beginning to see the benefits materialize before our eyes.
The roundtable included workers from across the country and across multiple generations, proving that these jobs are the future of our economy. And they’re good-paying jobs too. As SEEC Climate Jobs Task Force Co-Chair Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) said during the roundtable, “these provisions [in the Inflation Reduction Act] are already paying off, with research finding that landing a clean energy job can result in a 8-19% income increase.”
Investing in a clean energy future not only reduces our country’s production of greenhouse gasses, but it makes clean energy more affordable for hardworking families and creates well-paying union jobs. It couldn’t be more clear: The Inflation Reduction Act is giving back to the families and workers who are making our clean energy future possible.
Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
