Senator Bob Casey just released a report on corporate greed in farming-related commerce. His findings? Large corporations in the agriculture industry have consistently increased prices for everyday foods at a higher rate than any other industry.
It’s blatant price gouging, and a result of corporate greed. These major corporations are ripping off consumers trying to buy the most essential good possible — food.
We’ve got to do something about this. Join us and sign the petition demanding an end to the corporate greed and constant price gouging.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, corporations have used “inflation” as an excuse to raise prices, rip off hard working Americans, and rake in record profits. And the companies that manage our agriculture industry and supply us with food are no exception. Senator Bob Casey’s report found that major meat processing companies in the U.S. have engaged in unfair pricing practices.
During the holiday season, and in a country still reeling from a devastating pandemic, families find that their budgets are tight. 2 in 3 Americans report that their household expenses have risen in the last year. Meanwhile, between 2020 and 2022 corporate profits rose by 75%, which is five times as fast as inflation. Corporations are lining their pockets at our expense.
We need to demand that our leaders handle this price gouging crisis, both by enforcing existing consumer protection laws and passing legislation that takes meaningful action against this clear corporate greed.
Sign the petition today: No more corporate greed! No more price gouging!
Thank you,
Democratic Values
