Dear John,
Infanticide, consultations for abortions via Facebook, and much more...
I've been working with pro-life groups around the world and in New Zealand to fight against one of the most heinous anti-life bills that I've ever seen. While the world is preoccupied with Coronavirus panic, New Zealand looks set to introduce one of the world’s most extreme abortion proposals into their country. Will you help me fight against this?
Right to Life created a petition on CitizenGO. I’m asking you to sign against this horrible pro-abortion and anti-life bill. This bill is likely to be voted upon by the New Zealand Parliament, this Thursday 19th March.
A bill is currently passing through Parliament, which will: - Allow for abortion for any reason up until birth. It will also scrap the current 20-week limit for disability selective abortion, allowing abortion right up until birth for babies with minor disabilities such as the cleft palate and club foot.
- Legalize sex-selective abortion
- Scrap the need for licensed premises, meaning that abortion can be carried out anywhere, including in schools, via mobile clinics, and even via Facetime consultations.
- Create no need for the two licensed doctors to sign off the abortion, and neither would a licensed doctor be needed to perform an abortion, meaning that the procedure could be carried out by midwives and pharmacists without a trained doctor on hand, in case of complications.
This places vulnerable women at huge risk.
The situation is now getting urgent. This bill is likely to be voted upon by the New Zealand Parliament this Thursday, 19th March, and it is not too late for you to add your voice and sign the petition demanding that Winston Peters, New Zealand’s Deputy PM, who introduced this bill, now withdraws it.
In a shocking development, last Tuesday, during the committee stage of the bill, New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinta Arden, joined 80 other politicians in voting against an amendment that would have protected babies born alive after a failed abortion.
This means that if this bill goes through, any babies who are born alive after an abortion will be deprived of the chance to live, denied medical care and will be abandoned to die in agony.
As the bill will allow for abortion up until birth for any reason, this means that it is far more likely that unborn children will survive a ‘failed’ abortion attempt, as data from other countries demonstrates. Parliamentarians also rejected safeguards to protect vulnerable women, including those with learning difficulties, from being coerced into an unwanted abortion. They also rejected calls to restrict late-term abortions only to those cases where the woman’s life or health was in serious danger or where the baby was unlikely to survive birth. Please make no mistake, these are amongst the most heinous anti-life measures that I have ever encountered anywhere in the world.
It is not too late to speak up. Sign our petition telling Winston Peters to immediately withdraw this bill and stop betraying his voters. At a time of crisis, it is more important than ever that society continues to protect the most vulnerable. Thank you, Caroline Farrow and the entire CitizenGO Team P.S. Liberals are pushing some of the most extreme kinds of abortion policies all over the world. In the United States, Democrats refused to support a bill that would protect babies after they’ve been born. We’re joining pro-life voices around the world to fight this extremism. Will you join?
