John,

During this crisis, we need to ensure that those on the frontlines are supported. That especially means family caregivers and care workers!

Over the weekend, the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly and across party lines passed some emergency measures to ease the burdens on the people who will be affected. Virus testing, some paid sick leave, food assistance, and increased unemployment benefits are all included.

The House bill is a good first step and now, the U.S. Senate needs to approve it immediately. Your Senators need to hear from you so that they understand the urgency of the situation.

Call (202) 224-3121 to get to the Senate switchboard, where you’ll be connected to your Senators’ offices. Tell the person who answers:

Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME], I’m calling from [YOUR CITY/TOWN], and I'm a supporter of Caring Across Generations. Coronavirus is a public health threat to all of us. It’s also an economic threat. Please take the first step to protect all of us from this crisis by immediately passing the House relief package. And, in the next few weeks, Congress needs to make it possible for people to stay home to contain the virus by providing more economic support.

Make sure you call BOTH of your Senators and once you’ve made your calls, please fill out this form to let us know how it went.

Care workers and family caregivers are under incredible pressure because of the physical, mental, emotional, and financial toll of this virus. And if people miss paychecks because they are unable to work, families will be pushed to the limit. Now is not the time for half measures. We need to join together to demand that our legislators provide the support our families need.

With care,
