Hi Friend,
I’m so proud of our intern, Kylie, who sent this email a few days ago, so I wanted to make sure you see it.
Kylie was one of our fantastic crew this summer, and I cannot express how inspiring and fulfilling it was to work with these young people. Your generous response has already touched Kylie, and that is exactly what our youth need to know their voices matter.
Help Kylie and WAVE meet our year-end goals by donating now, while our matching campaign will double your gift. [[link removed]]
Thanks,

Subject: From Our Youth Intern to You đź‘‹
Hi John, [link removed] [[link removed]]
My name is Kylie, and I am a 17-year-old activist from central Wisconsin. I joined WAVE as a youth intern this summer working alongside WAVE staff and other interns to educate our communities about gun violence prevention and push for change.
Let me start by saying enough is enough. I’ve had enough of being a part of “generation lockdown” – a generation where a water bottle dropping on the floor in school strikes fear… because it sounds like gunshots. A generation where schools are no longer safe and fear is common. A generation where thousands of us are killed by gun violence because many of our elected officials care more about politics than our lives.
With that being said, I urge you to join in this work. Help me, WAVE Ed Fund, and other interns continue this work by donating today. Right now is an awesome time to do that because every donation made between now and the end of the year will be matched. [[link removed]] They've set a goal to raise $30,000.
Yes, I want to help! [[link removed]]
Often youth are judged to be “too young,” “too naive,” or “too sensitive” to make an impact. These assumptions couldn't be further from the truth. I've made it my mission to show other young people that we have a spot in this movement just as much as anyone else. When we put our voices together, find common ground, and share our inspiration, we activate real change.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message, and [[link removed]] thank you for giving to support WAVE – especially now because of WAVE’s friends who are matching every dollar donated, doubling the impact. [[link removed]] [[link removed]] I know that by having these conversations and giving our gifts today, we are collecting the puzzle pieces of change.
Peace,
Kylie
