Hi John,

The Center for Freethought Equality, the advocacy and political arm of the American Humanist Association, is committed to politically empowering the humanist and atheist community.

The Center for Freethought Equality has done groundbreaking work to empower our community -- the announcement by Congressman Jared Huffman (CA-2) that he is a humanist and agnostic, the formation of the Congressional Freethought Caucus, the expansion of the number of atheist and humanist elected officials from 5 to 77 at the state and federal level since 2016, and the creation of the Association of Secular Elected Officials.

Increasing the political engagement of the atheist and humanist community -- both as a voting bloc and as elected officials -- can counter the influence of the White Christian Nationalists who are far too powerful and dangerous -- as demonstrated in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol -- in our political culture. The rapidly growing humanist and atheist community is the constituency that can counter their anti-democratic, bigoted, anti-science, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, and homophobic crusade -- but we need your continued support to make that happen.

Thank you for your support to make America safer, saner, and more secular.

Sincerely,
Ron Millar
Political & PAC Coordinator
