Hi John,

I have exciting news to share about the Owyhee Canyonlands: the Malheur Community Empowerment for the Owyhee Act (S. 1890) passed out of committee last week! This is a huge milestone in the decades-long effort to protect the Owyhee; no legislation has made it to this moment. This is a testament to the strong relationships and broad stakeholder coalition that Senator Wyden has built while drafting this legislation.

We’re encouraged by the legislative progress but recognize that the work isn’t over. We need to show Congress why the Owyhee Canyonlands deserve to be protected, and we need your support to do it. Will you share your Owyhee story?

Whether you’ve been to the Owyhee Canyonlands once years ago, visit them on a regular basis, just have hopes of making it there someday, or anywhere in between-- share why you want to see permanent protections for the Owyhee Canyonlands.
