Dear John,
With euthanasia rising at the city pound for the first time in many years, homeless pets are increasingly at risk during a holiday season when every pet should have a home.
Thankfully, because of you, we’ve continued to be there for the dogs and cats in their hour of need.
Thanks to your support over the holidays—and all year long—more than 4,200 pets who were homeless earlier this year are now enjoying the holidays with their adopted families.
And because of the passion you’ve shown for our partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control, the city pound, we JUST announced PAWS Chicago 360 at CACC, a public/private partnership serving Chicago's homeless and at-risk dogs and cats. This partnership will address the short-term surge in homeless pets that is impacting Chicago and sweeping the nation, as well as forge a new model in how communities can support, care for, and offer life to homeless and at-risk cats and dogs.
When animals are in danger, PAWS Chicago is there because you, our animal-loving community, always rises to the occasion. And today, we need you yet again.
Donate now and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $80,000, thanks to a Matching Gift Challenge made possible through the generosity of the Seidensticker Family Foundation and Bill Little.
The homeless pet crisis isn’t over, but with your help, we will continue to be there for at-risk dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens.

Dominica Rescue Mission Update
On Saturday, December 2, PAWS Chicago welcomed 79 dogs and cats from the island nation of Dominica for a brand-new chapter.
These pets have been through a lot. The worst abuse we’ve ever seen. Animals were burned, beaten, tied up and left for dead. Pets like Plantain, Lala, Doodle, and Plum. There are so many stories. After all these animals have been through, they deserve lives filled with love and safety.
Now safe at PAWS Chicago, each of these furry rescues is guaranteed life and starting to thrive! And we made sure to transfer just as many Chicago animals the week they arrived so that our rescue mission didn't impact our local support.
