John — With just a few days left in 2023, we want to take a moment to recap and celebrate our victories throughout the year.

In response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe, Angus introduced the Protecting Access to Medication Abortion Act, which would codify into law current FDA guidelines that allow patients to access abortion medications through certified pharmacies, telehealth visits, and mail-order pharmacies.

In June, Angus joined Governor Janet Mills to announce that Maine will receive $272 million to expand high-speed internet access under the 2022 bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

This fall, Angus introduced a bill to help teachers who have to pay out-of-pocket for their students’ supplies. The Educators Expense Deduction Modernization Act of 2023 would more than triple the amount educators can deduct from their taxes for classroom expenses.

Angus also fought for Maine’s seniors — in September, he introduced his “Stand Strong” legislative package to help older Americans equip their homes to prevent dangerous and costly injuries.

After the tragedy in Lewiston, Angus worked with his colleague Senator Martin Heinrich to introduce the Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion (GOSAFE) Act — which seeks to protect our communities from mass shootings while still defending the constitutional right to own a firearm for hunting, sporting, or self-defense.

And most recently, Angus helped pass the National Defense Authorization Act for 2024, which includes crucial funding for Bath Iron Works, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and contractors across the state. It also includes several cybersecurity provisions that Angus fought for as the co-chair of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission.

Will you add a donation of any amount today to help Angus keep delivering results in the Senate? We have much more work to do in 2024, and we need your support to keep Maine and America moving forward.

On behalf of Angus and our team, we look forward to everything we’re going to accomplish together in the new year. Thank you so much for being with us every step of the way.
