Hi friend,
My twin sister Karen and I submitted our DACA applications at the same time. Hers was quickly accepted, and now she gets to enjoy all the protections that come along with DACA status.
My application, though, was still being processed when Judge Hanen first shut down the program to new applicants in 2021. My application was frozen, and my protections have been stuck in limbo ever since.
Now that DACA is likely headed to the Supreme Court again, the future of my sister’s protections are in question. And soon, we may both be at risk of detention and deportation to a country we haven’t lived in since we were two years old.
That’s why I fight — because I know that our home state of Texas is big enough for all of us, despite what the fear-mongering MAGA politicians say. They want us to go back into the shadows. But Texas is my home, and I am not afraid.
Will you join me in the fight to create a better future for us all with permanent protections for DACA recipients like my sister, and folks DACA left behind like me? UWDA is leading the charge for a pathway to citizenship, and we need your help in this urgent moment:

With your support, we can make my dreams, Karen’s dreams, my parents’ dreams, and the dreams of millions of undocumented people like me a reality. Thank you!
