As Finance Director for the California Democratic Party, it’s my job to crunch the numbers and ensure we have the needed budget before saying “GO” to any new initiative.

And here’s the blunt truth: Right now we are a little bit short of our goal.

When I talk to donors on the phone, I often hear that because California trends blue at the Presidential level, people forget the importance of our state in other razor-tight elections.

But right now, political analysts, the media, and even *Republicans* themselves are saying the same thing — control of the U.S. House will come down to California. So reaching our fundraising goal here couldn’t be more urgent.
