John,
After a weekend at home and a week ahead that will be very different for all of us, I thought I would share some positive ideas of good we can do while all staying safe...
1. Check in on your neighbors. Offer to pick up groceries/prescriptions for them if they are not able to, or are more vulnerable if exposed to the virus.
2. Donate to our local food banks. They will need more resources to feed adults who are not able to work, and children who are not in school right now. You can find your local food banks here.
4. Support small businesses in our community when you go out for supplies, especially those that employ low wage workers. Gift cards can also be purchased, which provide businesses with the income they need now.
5. Sign up to volunteer by calling 211. Governor Whitmer announced this volunteer registry for those who would like to help our most vulnerable populations.
And of course, follow all of the social distancing and hand washing advice while doing good!
