DEAR MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS,

This week, I JOINED MORE THAN 80 MOVEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERS AT THE
CAPITOL [3] from multiracial, multigendered, multisectoral, and interfaith
organizations all over the country to demand that our federal government
STOP A $106 BILLION SPENDING PACKAGE [2] that will perpetuate Israel’s
genocide of Palestinians and escalate militarization at the U.S./Mexico
border that criminalizes immigrant communities.

We carried children’s shoes into the Capitol Rotunda to memorialize the
8,000 children killed by the Israeli military in Gaza and the thousands of
children victimized by ICE, demanding a divestment from death and
investment in life. Hundreds of organizations signed on to a JOINT
STATEMENT [4] from immigrant, Palestinian, and allied justice groups to
categorically oppose all proposals fueling more violence against our
communities here and globally, and I ENCOURAGE YOUR ORGANIZATIONS TO SIGN
ON [5] too.

I got arrested in D.C. with 60 other leaders, to be in solidarity with our
Palestinian, Jewish, immigrant, veteran, people of color, and youth
communities, and because a vibrant, healthy democracy requires civil
society to play a critical role keeping those with governing power
accountable.

Right now, individuals and organizations are being censored, penalized, and
defunded for taking a moral and political stance to call for a permanent
ceasefire in Palestine. This silencing enables the undercutting of
democracy, creating more onramps for authoritarianism to rise.

We need to prioritize comprehensive funding for the needs and livelihoods
of our people and the well-being of the planet, especially housing,
healthcare, care of children and elders, and access to healthy food and
water. It is unconscionable that our elected officials are using this
moment to push policies that will harm even more communities. We call for
an end to the genocide in Gaza, and a permanent ceasefire now.

QUERIDES MIEMBROS Y PARTIDARIES,

Esta semana, ME UNÍ A MÁS DE 80 LÍDERES DE ORGANIZACIONES Y DEL
MOVIMIENTO EN EL CAPITOLIO [3] — de organizaciones multirraciales,
multigénero, multisectorales, e interreligiosas de todo el país para
exigir que nuestro gobierno federal FRENE UN PAQUETE DE GASTOS DE $106 MIL
MILLONES [2] que perpetuará el genocidio de palestinos por parte de Israel
e intensificará la militarización en la frontera EE.UU./México que
criminaliza a las comunidades inmigrantes.

Llevamos zapatos de niños a la sala circular del Capitolio para conmemorar
a les 8.000 niñes matades por las fuerzas armadas israelíes en Gaza y les
miles de niñes victimizades por ICE, exigiendo una desinversión de la
muerte e inversión en la vida. Cientos de organizaciones firmaron una
DECLARACIÓN CONJUNTA [4] de grupos de inmigrantes, palestinos y aliados
para oponerse categóricamente a todas las propuestas que fomentan más
violencia contra nuestras comunidades aquí y globalmente, y LES ANIMO A
SUS ORGANIZACIONES QUE TAMBIÉN LA FIRMEN [5].

Fui arrestada en D.C. con 60 otres líderes, en solidaridad con nuestras
comunidades palestinas, judías, inmigrantes, veteranas, de color, y de
juventudes, y porque una democracia vibrante y sana requiere que la
sociedad civil desempeñe un papel crítico en hacerle rendir cuentas al
poder gobernante.

En este momento, individuos y organizaciones están siendo censurades,
penalizades y desfinanciades por tomar una postura moral y política al
pedir un alto al fuego permanente en Palestina. Este silenciamiento permite
que se socave la democracia, dando más cabida para que se levante el
autoritarismo.

Debemos priorizar fondos abarcadores para las necesidades y el sustento de
nuestro pueblo y el bienestar del planeta, especialmente vivienda, cuidado
de la salud, cuidado de niñes y mayores y acceso a comida saludable y agua
potable. Es inconcebible que nuestros políticos electos estén usando este
momento para avanzar políticas que dañarán a más comunidades todavía.
Exigimos un fin al genocidio en Gaza, y un alto al fuego ahora.

LES PIDO QUE HAGAN UNA DONACIÓN HOY MISMO [7] PARA DESINVERTIR DE LA
MUERTE E INVERTIR EN LA VIDA. Juntes, podemos forjar un futuro para la
