John, America is in the midst of a gun violence epidemic. There have been over 600 mass shootings in 2023 alone. Our children and communities are living in fear of gun assailants and violence every day. But it doesn't have to be this way.

There are simple gun safety reforms that we know will curb gun violence and make our communities safer. The vast majority of Americans support basic reforms like expanded background checks. 

Gun safety legislation shouldn't be a partisan issue. It's about protecting communities and preventing senseless deaths. But the far-right gun lobby is spending MILLIONS each year to stop commonsense legislation from becoming the law of the land. And each year, the cycle of mass shootings and violence continues.

That's why Democrats are fighting to finally make a change and pass universal background checks!
