Dear cherished community,
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, the winter solstice envelops us in its quiet embrace—a moment of stillness, reflection, and the promise of returning light.
In difficult times, the flames of economic and healing justice that burn in our hearts, and the embers of our shared commitment to creating a more just and equitable world, sustain us. The challenges we face are not insurmountable, but they require the warmth of solidarity and the fuel of compassion to forge ahead.
What will we leave behind? What will we tend and grow?
Our collective journey has been one of resilience. Healing justice, too, is an integral part of our shared narrative. The wounds of inequality and systemic injustice need the soothing balm of empathy and compassion. As we tend our fire, let us also tend to the wounds that persist, acknowledging the pain and fostering a community of healing.
In the coming year, may we leave behind our fatalism, the doubts we have of each other, and any uncertainty about whether our actions matter. Instead, let’s grow through our conflicts, nurture our leadership, and stoke our collective fight for economic justice, community self-determination, and collective care.
Let us embody the spirit of the winter solstice, finding hope in the darkest moments and envisioning an abundant future in which we all thrive.
To continue our vital work, we humbly ask for your support <[link removed]>. Your generous donations fuel the flames of justice, enabling us to foster transformative leadership development for change, support robust structures for collective action led by those most impacted, and promote healing within our communities.
Wishing you all a season of reflection, renewal, and a shared commitment to the fires of justice.
With warmth, and in solidarity,
Jeannette Huezo, Executive Director and Senior Popular Educator
