December 21, 2023
Friends,
I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –
2023 Accomplishments
As 2023 comes to an end, I’m recapping my work in Congress this Session. It’s a privilege to represent you in Congress. I'm sharing how I fought for commonsense spending, border security, oversight of the Biden Administration, and defunding woke initiatives. Watch here!
Merry Christmas
As Christmas songs are playing all around us and everyone eagerly awaits Christmas, all is truly "merry and bright."
I'm excited to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was born in Bethlehem.
Beyond the gifts, remember our troops who are spending their Christmas standing guard so you can celebrate here at home.
Merry Christmas and God bless!
Colorado's Election Interference
On Tuesday, the Colorado Supreme Court acted outside of its judicial powers and interfered with the Presidential Election by disqualifying Donald Trump from the ballot.
The Court has taken away the right of Coloradans to cast a vote for the candidate of their choosing. The Supreme Court must act quickly to restore justice and overrule the Colorado Court.
Once again, liberals prove they are focused solely on taking down Donald J. Trump.
Stop the Invasion
Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas refuse to enact policies that solve the invasion at our southern border.
On Monday, 12,600 illegals tried to get across our border. Since Joe Biden took office, over 6.2 million illegal border crossings occurred at just the southern border.
Biden and Mayorkas have failed to uphold their Constitutional obligations and must resign today!
Visit the Hill
Are you planning to visit Washington, D.C.? Plan your trip early so you can tour the U.S. Capitol, White House, and many other locations around the Hill. Request tickets here.
One of the statues you will see in the Rotunda is of former President Ronald Reagan. His legacy of fighting for freedom is remembered with pieces of the Berlin Wall included in the statue’s pedestal. The statue was created by James McCrery.
Statuary Hall in the Capitol is known by several names like the “Old House Chambers” and the “Whispering Gallery.” You can stand where John Quincy Adams' desk sat and see first-hand how he eavesdropped on conversations across the room.
Legislative Action
I cosponsored HR 6784, Rep. Massie’s bill to change the legal age for handgun purchases from 21 years old to 18 years old.
In the District
Congratulations to Carolina Structural Systems on investing $4.7 million dollars to open up business in Anderson County. Carolina Structural Systems creates components and products out of wood for homes and commercial properties. This family-owned business will create 60 new jobs in Anderson County.
First Baptist Simpsonville recently made history for their congregation by baptizing 141 people in one day. The Church had been learning about church ordinances before scheduling the opportunity for members to be baptized.
It is an honor to serve the Third District of South Carolina. Should you or your family need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my office directly.
Merry Christmas,
Jeff Duncan Member of Congress |
