John, as we get closer to our official election year, my purpose in this fight and my plans for Western Maryland are only becoming more clear.
So today I wanted to tell you exactly what values are steering me, and hope you’ll join me on this mission by chipping in to my people-powered campaign. ([link removed])
Bridging the gap. Marginalized communities in Western Maryland want to be seen, heard, and understood by their representatives. We’re tired of being ignored just because politicians refuse to cross Montgomery County lines. I’m not just ready to bridge that gap – I’m already here.
Breaking barriers. I was the first Black Mayor of Hagerstown, but I’m not just shattering glass ceilings – I’m breaking institutional barriers. And I won’t stop until folks like me don’t have to overcome obstacles like this.
Building progressive power. As a mayor and mediator, I’ve dedicated my life to empowering my community. But my mission for MD-06 can’t be contained to Town Halls and community centers. Together, we have to bring this fight to Congress.
I’m driven by values, integrity and conviction – not corporate PACs or political calculation. And I’m proud of that! But it means that, from time to time, I have to ask you for a few dollars. It’s how we fuel this fight the right way.
